Kids Club Hosts Mt. Zion Kids Open

On Sunday February 3, the Mt. Zion Wrestling Club held their annual kids club tournament. There were 431 kids that cut their way through the extremely thick fog on Sunday morning.

The Mt. Zion Wrestling Club would like to thank all the volunteers that help make our tournament as successful. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors of the tournament, without their help we can not have a successful tournament. We would like to thank all of the teams that traveled through the horrible weather to our tournament.

With 53 Mt. Zion Kids wrestling in their home tournament the Mt.Zion coaching staff was extremely busy moving from mat to mat.

The results of the tournament were:

5-6 year olds: John Bowling – 1st place, Kooper Loehr – 1st place, Andrew Wike – 1st place, Egan Bender – 2nd place, Braden Highley – 2nd place, Brody Norman – 2nd place, Brycen Brenner – 3rd place, Reese Edwards – 3rd place, Gavin Hicklin – 3rd place, Dalton Current – 4th place, Caden Owens – 4th place, Gavin Taylor – 4th place;

 I would like to congratulate Austin Thatcher for placing 2nd in his weight bracket in 11-12 year old division and Derek Schultz for placing 2nd in his weight bracket in 13-14 year old.
