Mt. Zion Heads to Mattoon

On Sunday January 6th the Mt. Zion Wrestling Club sent 35 wrestlers to the Mattoon Wrestling Tournament in Mattoon, IL. With several first time wrestlers the team ended up with a record of 54-51.

5-6 year olds: Parker Lindsey – 1st place, Kooper Loehr – 1st place, Braden Highley – 3rd place, Gavin Taylor – 3rd place, Gavin Hicklin – 3rd place, Nash Mose – 3rd place, Egan Bender – 3rd place;

7-8 year olds: Clayton Marquardt – 1st place, Cade McLeod – 1st place, Brylen Watrous – 2nd place, Jeric Longfellow – 2nd place, Gus Wheeler – 2nd place, Zachary Lane – 2nd place, Bowen Bender – 3rd place, Dalton Allen – 3rd place, Peyton Lindsey – 3rd place, Kameron Evans – 4th place, Logan Petro – 4th place, Gabriel Sphar – 4th place, Garrett Stoecker – 4th place;

9-10 year olds: Zack Stroud – 1st place, Preston Lindsey – 3rd place, Connor Sphar – 4th place, Von Roderick – 4th place, Cody Riley – 4th place, Mikalan Evans – 5th place, Elliot Geisler – 5th place, Paxton Lane – 6th place, Robert Bennett – 6th place, Louis Hicklin – 6th place;

11-12 year olds: Colton LeCrone – 1st place, PJ Riley – 1st place, Austin Thatcher – 3rd place;

13-14 year olds: Nick Stroud – 3rd place, Timmy McElroy – 3rd place, Derek Schultz – 3rd place.
